West Coast Tall  is a tall cultivar type originating from the west coast region of Tamil Nadu state and starts yielding from 6 to 7 years after planting. The average yield is 100 nuts per palm per year. The expected copra content is 176 grams per nut ranging between 135 grams and 200 grams with 68 % oil content. WCT palm grows in all types of soil, especially grow well in littoral sand as well as in the interior, and is somewhat tolerant to moisture stress in the soil
