Welcome to Our Fields
Kamalam Nursery was established in the year 2011 with focus to grow and develop plantation and species crops in Tamil Nadu. Our prime objective is to produce and distribute quality planting materials for the farmers of Tamil Nadu. We are in about a decade of service and currently managing about 3,000 acres of farm lands.
We are fully capable of producing around 1 Lakh seedlings in a year and have consistently produced and distributed about 70,000 seedlings per annum for the past five years. Till now we have been part of expanding an area of 3,000 acres.
Our core strength is Supreme quality, timely delivery and unmatched service at all times to the farming fraternity. We do offer farm management services and handle turnkey projects to support establishing new gardens and orchards.

Mr. A. Arulkumar is a Commerce graduate who hails from Pollachi and he has about 25 years of experience in nursery, farm management and turn key project management. He is a thorough professional on resource management in the farming sector.
With his network and connections he is capable of sourcing the quality planting materials and farm inputs required for Coconut, Arecanut, Nutmeg, Pepper and Cocoa. Currently working closely with the farmers and serving by handling the critical agronomic activities such as planting, manuring, weeding and harvesting. He is good in turnkey projects with an end to end approach from land development, establishment, plant protection, etc.

Quality Coconut Planting Materials
We offer premium, highly selected seedlings with the target age metrics of 9 to 12 months after early nursery staging. Seedlings which are germinated earlier, have good girth at the collar and display early splitting profiles of leaflets are strictly selected for distribution. We offer quality seedlings with a minimum of 6 leaves and a stable girth profile of 10 cm at the collar line.

Quality Arecanut Planting Materials
We select our arecanut seeds strictly from highly verified, regular bearing trees that clearly display excellent nut width and weight specifications. Seeds are systematically sown in our nursery using spacious layout calculations to develop well-matured, stocky seedling stems. 12 to 18 months old seedlings are processed and distributed to farmers, serving as a primary choice for high-returns intercropping inside active Coconut gardens across Tamil Nadu.

Nutmeg high-value Plantation Crop
Nutmeg is recognized as one among the finest high-value plantation spice crops. It acts as a phenomenal ecosystem stabilizer when planted as an intercrop in coconut groves. Nutmeg trees inside the Coconut gardens are perfectly balanced within a dual-tier cropping architecture.
It accommodates perfectly in Coconut spaces, and symmetrically offers a more congenial environment to support the main palm crop by reducing the ambient soil heat index, improving micro-climatic humidity levels, and facilitating more stable flowering and nut setting percentages. The interspace lines between two rows of Coconuts are effectively utilized to maximize value generated per unit area of land.

Nutmeg Seedlings
Careful analytical selection is executed at the seed sourcing stage, which is then germinated under controlled nursery conditions to safeguard higher strike rates. Managed by technically sound plant path specialists. Distributed at 6 months of age for immediate transplanting layouts.
Nutmeg Budded Plants
The splice budding process is performed with high manual precision by our custom-trained workforce. We manage setting period moisture indices under strict polytunnel environments. These premium well-set budded plants are distributed at the age of 12 months for elite orchard setups.
Black Pepper — The King of Spices
Black pepper is highly preferred to be grown in Coconut and Arecanut plantations as an intercrop. It is trained to climb the existing mature tree trunks, optimizing the vertical micro-environment space of the gardens in a highly efficient, space-saving layout.
Our Scientific Propagation Methodology
We selectively isolate and propagate Pepper from three distinct runner system types to protect performance lineage:
Primary Stems
Vines feature long internodes with strong adventitious anchoring roots which hold tightly to target standard tree structures.
Runner Shoots
Originating from the immediate base of healthy mother vines, boasting long nodes that strike deep roots at every contact point.
Fruit Bearing Laterals
Seldom used for standard vines because they preserve a compact bushy layout. However, we root these specialized laterals specifically to provide Bush Pepper plants.
Cultivated Elite Varieties
Karimunda
One among the most popular and time-tested Pepper varieties in cultivation across Southern India. Well suited for intercropping arrays in high-density Pollachi coconut gardens. Yield potential stands at 3 to 5 kgs of fresh pepper per vine per year, with dry recovery ratios averaging 32% to 38%.
Panniyur 1
The iconic first-generation hybrid developed by the Panniyur research station. Very popular among commercial farmers and widely grown throughout Tamil Nadu. Berries present a noticeably larger diameter. Prefers moderate shade conditions, yielding an impressive average of 510 Kgs of dry berries per acre.
